The most famous Angler and resident to fish the river was Zane Grey, who lived at the confluence of the Lackawaxen and Delaware Rivers. His first publication was “A Day on the Delaware,” which first appeared in May 1902. Regarded as the “Father of the Western Novel” Zane Grey sold over 30 million books throughout the world. From his novels 104 movies were made, and a television series “The Zane Grey Theater” featured 145 of his stories. He had two passions…writing and fishing!
